Chambers of Commerce in the region are partnering on an initiative to recognize and show appreciation for those on the front lines, working to keep our communities healthy, safe and strong. The chambers of Botetourt, Montgomery County, Salem-Roanoke County, Roanoke Region, Smith Mountain Lake Region, and the Vinton Area, have announced this new initiative to shine a light on those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blue Ridge Bright is a way for chamber members, community partners, and the region at large to show their support for those working to keep us healthy and safe, including first responders, healthcare workers, those in the transportation, grocery and delivery industries, and many others. We owe them all a debt of gratitude and recognize their sacrifices.

To participate in the Blue Ridge Bright initiative, simply place a light outside between 8:00-9:00 p.m. – this could be a battery-operated candle, flashlight or just turn on your porch lights – to honor front line workers. Those participating are invited to share photos or videos using the hashtag #BlueRidgeBright.

Blue Ridge Bright begins on April 19 and concludes the evening of April 25.
